As the editorial intern at Atlanta Weddings Magazine, I assisted the editor-in-chief and art director in myriad capacities. I interviewed local Atlanta newlyweds and wrote eight “Real Weddings” articles, which were published in the Fall/Winter issue and will be published in the Spring/Summer issue. For the F/W issue, I was also responsible for the “Runway Trend Report,” a popular section about the latest bridal market trends. For this piece, I researched the trends, chose the fashion houses to be included, contacted the appropriate fashion house PR directors in order to procure necessary gown images, and played a significant role in designing the layout. I compiled a list of lessons and advice from local newlyweds for the "Second Thoughts" section. I also assisted the editors on photo shoots and offered opinions during all editorial meetings. Because of my internship performance during the summer—in addition to my editorial position at Weddings—I was offered the Marketing Intern position for Atlanta Magazine, and assisted the Marketing Director with event coordination and client interaction.
